Vision + Provision | Message Nine
This new series is called “Vision and Provision.”
By ‘vision’ we mean the big spiritual questions of life:
❔ Why are we here?
❔ What is our dream for our life, and what is God’s dream for our life?
By ‘provision’ we mean the practical resources God provides to make dreams a reality: time, money, effort, energy, etc.
Scriptures | John 1:17; Acts 20:35; Luke 6:38; 2 Corinthians 9:8
From his fullness we have all received grace upon grace;
as the Law was given through Moses,
so grace and truth came into being through Jesus Christ. ~John 1:17
In everything I have shown you that, by working hard, we must help the weak. In this way we remember the Lord Jesus’ words: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ~Acts 20:35
Give, and it will be given to you. A good portion—packed down, firmly shaken, and overflowing—will fall into your lap. The portion you give will determine the portion you receive in return. ~Luke 6:38
God has the power to provide you with more than enough of every kind of grace. That way, you will have everything you need always and in everything to provide more than enough for every kind of good work. ~2 Corinthians 9:8
Question 1 | You don’t have to have heard the sermon from Sunday, but if you were in church, watched online, or listened to the podcast, what stuck with you?
Question 2 | The main teaching point of Sunday’s message was this: God provides TO people THROUGH people. There are countless examples of this in scripture, including John 1:17 – God provided the law through Moses, and God provided grace and truth (and more!) through Jesus Christ.
❔When have you experienced this in your life, when God provided TO you THROUGH someone else?
Question 3 | Can you talk about a time when you may have experienced this in your life, when God provided TO you THROUGH someone else?
Question 4 | The final question of the message is really the ultimate application:
❔ How will I connect, give, and receive?
Bonus Questions | How can you connect with others, interpersonally and relationally? (Because connecting to people is an essential part of connecting to provision). How can you give to others, serve others, and do for others in those relationships? And how can you receive from others in this season of your life? And by receiving from others, you ultimately receive from God!
