Vision + Provision | Message 6

Sermon Series:

Vision + Provision | Message Six

This new series is called “Vision and Provision.”

By ‘vision’ we mean the big spiritual questions of life:

❔ Why are we here?

❔ What is our dream for our life, and what is God’s dream for our life?

By ‘provision’ we mean the practical resources God provides to make dreams a reality: time, money, effort, energy, etc.

Scriptures | Matthew 23:23 + Malachi 3:7-10

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices- mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law– justice, mercy, and faithfulness. you should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.” ~Matthew 23:23

“In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse- your whole nation- because you are robbing me. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. ‘Test me in this,’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.’” ~Malachi 3:7-10

Question 1 | You don’t have to have heard the sermon from Sunday, but if you were in church, watched online, or listened to the podcast, what stuck with you?

Question 2 | What parts of the Christian faith do you find relatively difficult to do? What parts of Christian discipleship do you find do not come naturally to you?

Question 3 | What about money?  Christian discipleship impacts everything, including our relationship with money.  Do you find it relatively easy or relatively hard to trust God with your finances? Do you find it relatively easy or relatively hard to be generous, or to consider tithing?

Question 4 | For whatever is hard for you, what might God be calling you to do differently? How can you not avoid the difficulty, but face the difficulty, and grow in your faith in this area?
